Many of the objectives and goals of providing this site have been outlined on the Home page of the Site. In this page we are able to expand the explanation and offer more than our summary.
1) Divine Connections as a concept was inspired by the Holy Spirit and envisaged very simply the means for the Christian Community to be able to meet, network, fellowship, see the Hand of God at work and participate constructively in the growth of the Kingdom of God. 2) The objectives are very focused and quite simple. The Site does not have the purpose for Divine Connections itself to make money (other than to pay the bills, pay the Staff and to provide for reinvestment and Site development), or for any users to make unrepresentatively large financial gains from use of the Site. In community we all share, so in trading some buy and some sell, but all benefit. If this can be perceived as an equal and mutual benefit then some of our objectives have been fulfilled. 3) Another dimension of the Site is the means to share the blessings of God through prayer and praise. Users can state prayers they wish others to pray. Users may also give testimony to the results of prayer and to state what God has done for them. 4) Another opportunity for networking and fellowship is through the Home Swap –this is a means to permit holiday opportunities, which for many may otherwise be financially difficult to afford. 5) For these reasons, Divine Connections has been set up with charitable status and as stated above, has aims which transcend financial reward, but are vested in the development of the Body of Christ through the networking and exchanges that happen over the Site. For this reason the service is entirely free to users. Divine Connections do not charge for users to register to join the Site or to make any other transaction. Instead we trust you may be moved to make a financial donation, which is representative of the blessing or value you have yourself received. (We suggest 1% of the transaction if financial may be a guideline.) In summary, the values we hold for users to benefits and develop each other in their pilgrimage of faith is as follows:- o Honour for the Lord at all times – the Site is His idea
o Honour for each other
o Honesty, truth and fairness – (no-one should be trying to gain advantage at someone else’s expense; we are not in competition)
o Honourable activities, services and goods for advertising, sale or exchange – we are only permitting that which is legitimate, healthy and acceptable in the Christian life.
o Holy Spirit led content – we want to create an environment that enables the Holy Spirit to touch lives – we ask users to bring positive, upbuilding content and attitudes which make space for the Holy Spirit to operate. We trust you the users will benefit greatly form the site and that you will continue to enjoy its use.
